As for your discussions regarding Justification (aka getting into heaven from faith or good works), it basically boils down to this for the Catholic Church:
1. Faith alone won't save you.
2. Good works alone won't save you.
Therefor, there is really only one conclusion. But you really need to look at the Council of Trent to get a greater understanding of such an assertion.
We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will yet swell the chorus when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.
