Actually, one thing I HAVE noticed is that Canadians in Boston, and there are a shit ton of them, don't have any sort of rep for being bad tippers. In florida though, they are pretty much the worst. Europeans are always the worst, they leave like 50 cents and say what a fantastic job the server did on the way out. Or even worse, they will KNOW they should tip, and explain to servers why they don't tip. Canadians just don't tip, and if they do it's like 5-10%.

Surprisingly the British aren't really known as bad tippers. It's the continentals and Canadians that get an awful rep. South Americans tip like 40% and then ask to f**k the waitress or start getting their own wine and shit haha.

22-25% at least. I may not work in the service industry, but I know what it feels like to do a tough job and not be appreciated for it.

So getting 20% instead of 25% makes the person a bad tipper? That is just silly. Sounds like a case of the self-entitlements to me.

That is retarded. It doesn't make you a bad tipper at all. Tipping 5% makes you a bad tipper. 10% is bad. In no world is paying 20% on top of your bill "bad." And how in the hell are you supposed to know how much servers get tipped, considering it varies from city to city?

A good waiter at a decent restaurant can make $120 in a six hour shift, no problem, and get away without paying taxes on alot if not all of it. That on top of their wage. It isn't nearly as bad as you are making it out to be.

It's all relative, you would be a great tipper if you went to Europe.

Oh, I'm a great tipper everywhere. I do 25-30% on average, and spend way too much at bars. Most if not all of my friends are the same way, which is why I find the disconnect here so odd.
