Yes. Turn on the evening news and listen to Brian Williams. That's how you're supposed to speak when in public.

Speaking of this - my daughter is in speech therapy. She's 5, and has trouble saying "r". Nothing major.

But, I was talking with her therapist. I swear, that lady pronounces every . . . single . . . word . . . properly. It's distracting. You end up paying more attention to how she says, than what she says.

Brian Williams does have a good (nonexistent) accent, though.

Of course I would be understanding of someone who has a legitimate speech impediment, but, yeah man Brian Williams talk in public, at the office, etc. I'm not really even kidding. Black people would be looked upon with scorn in most office settings if they used Ebonics, but some white dude from Pittsburgh, for some reason should be able to say "Do any of yins have some gumbands?" And not be fired on the spot? I disapprove of the double standard.
