I don't care how depleted the USSR was in manpower(I disagree that they were in such bad shape), western Europe was in no condition to stop the Russians..France was a mess, as was Italy.. Britain would have just packed up and left the continent, again.. The Russians would have had little trouble.

And imagine if we left in 1946, and the Red Army did roll across Western Europe? 6 years of war and 55 million dead to kick Hitler out of Western Europe and then just sat by while Hitler's occupation was replaced by Stalin's?

Hitlers occupation basically was given to stalin.

And wjhy are you disagreeing they were in bad shape? They lost a tremendous number of men and that was with a numerical and, later, technical advantage. How do you possibly think they would have the capabilities to just start another war and occupy all of western Europe immediately following the war? I mean I guess of they wanted to cause an even more hilarious drop in population and gender unbalance then yeah.
