I was lucky enough to experience playing outdoors and computers thanks to how lame the technology could be at the time. I truly fear for my children's generation who will grow up with nothing but skinner boxes.

I didn't really explore the internet until the late 90s/early 2000s. I pretty much spent 7th/8th grade living on Xanga, professional wrestling forums, and hotornot.

I remember constantly getting those AOL discs in the mail. Had a neighbor who would hang them all over her yard to try to keep the cats out.

AOL was a curse on this planet. Though it was fun using instant messenger to harass people.

And I may have been the only person in the US who was never on AOL, my 1st ISP was Prodigy. I think I had Netzero for awhile too..

The Usenet was my first foray into posting on a "forum". Some of the old groups I posted in still exist in Google groups I think.
