perfect albums?

i don't think it's a perfect album, but it's definitely a great album for sure. one of my favorites.

I'm pretty picky, so in my memory, there have only been three albums I could put in on repeat and not have the desire to skip a track and actually want to listen to them through as placed on the album.

Led Zeppelin - IV
Mumford and Sons - Sigh no More
Soundgarden - Superunknown

There are quite a few bands with songs I like a lot, some more than ones on those albums, but they are generally mixed with songs I must skip.

If you need a reason, generally speaking, the album has to have some sort of theme, good transitions, and the order of the tracks tell a kind of story to my brain. Pink Floyd and Rush are really good at this too, however, I rarely have the nine hours it takes to get through some of their songs. Thus, they are not included.

Also, I realize this is a bit of a passe and obvious choice, but I believe in any discussion of perfect albums...

Rod Stewart's 1991 masterwerk "Vagabond Heart" cannot go unmentioned. This is literally a tour de force of 12 straight greatest hits, including the titanic "Rhythm of My Heart", which basically could have been considered the soundtrack to the Gulf War, and the Van Morrison cover "Have I told You Lately That I Love You"




In addition, the track "Rebel Heart", about trying to unwittingly date a lesbian... an expression of everyday life far beyond it's time.
