I hope Phillip RIP. My first thought was about the unimaginable sadness and horror his children felt upon learning that their Dad, whom they were waiting to see at the park, heard that their father was dead. I also read that his estranged girlfriend Mimi shrieked awfully when told the news. Phil is at peace but the survivors have to live through this. That is the REAL tragedy IMO.

All of that lends sympathy IMO. The guy had a relapse and killed himself before he could get help again. After two decades of sobriety. That is sad as hell, and I feel very sorry for the way he must have felt.

People die of heroin ODs every day, but now that someone famous has died, the police are running around looking for all those involved with his death to put them in jail. Doubt they'd afford the same service to the 30 yr old black man in the slums that died from a heroin OD.

A good depression deserves a good whiskey not needles and deadly drugs. What was he thinking.
