I don't get why the name thing is such a big deal. My wife took mine when we got married, though I didn't ask her to. Didn't care, honestly. Never met anyone who took their wife's name, but we do know a hyphenated couple. Which I also don't see a problem with as I can't figure out how it could be more equitable.
People should just keep the names their born with. Its the 21st century. Or change their names to something hilarious. Like Mike Litoris.
