Msnbc and fox aren't even about pushing an ideological agenda. They both produce content based on what their target audience already thinks and wants confirmed. For the most part msnbc wants their viewers to feel good about voting for Obama and fox wants their viewers to feel good about voting against him. In doing so both have increased their ratings, though fox does it better and has far more viewers.

That's actually pretty much spot-on. Key point: in neither instance are either of those things "journalism."
