I believe the purpose of press freedom is so opposing political viewpoints are not suppressed. I don't believe people have a right to surveill and photograph other people in private life without their knowledge under the guise of press freedom. Simply make the offensive behavior illegal. Problem solved. Also the rags that print this type of garbage should be regulated more strictly, it's nothing but a way of filling people's heads up with trash.
The idea that sighting some individual human being is a notable or newsworthy event is ridiculous if you consider it from the viewpoint of someone who isn't immersed in our culture. The paparazzi phenomena is a pretty bizarre set of behaviors if considered in this light.
