A middle class community gets poisoned by chemical waste that has leaked into the water supply. They file suit against the multi-billion dollar company, seeking millions in damages. The company hires the best lawyers in the country. The community loses the suit, and now owes that company tens of millions of dollars.

The EPA, CDC and NASA are disbanded. The Clean Water Act is gutted, nobody tracks infectious diseases nationally, and America falls way behind in technological development and space exploration.

Instead of buying subsidized milk, a poor person has to buy a $5000 dairy cow. Where they get the money, who knows. Perhaps ten families band together and buy the cow, and split on the costs of feed. Of course if anything goes wrong, they'll likely die because the milk isn't pasteurized. But hey, FREEDOM!

Looks to me these days like no matter how much a party screws up their brand, the other party manages to do something --perceived or real -- that will bring it all back into balance.
