I'm not demonizing. If anything I'm saying you guys are kind enough to recognise the low pay and as such tip more. By pay I meant wage, not tips. But in the US if you don't tip you'd be seriously screwing over the waiter/waitress whereas in Europe it'd still be bad for them just not as bad, hence the tip is lower.
