i have two go-to rices and i prefer jasmine over basmati, but it also depends on what i'm having. the nutty delicious of jasmine pairs well with thai food, and frankly just about anything. if i am making thai coconut curry, it's going to be all over jasmine rice. basmati on the other hand i use with other dishes. indian foods i prefer it, so if i'm having dal spinach or something like that i'll take basmati. neither of these rices are even brown.
now if i'm having like, walleye, and i need to pair that with some rice, i'll choose minnesota wild rice
