In other news, the Eagles are f**k up big time with DeSean Jackson. It's clear now they want to trade him but they've shown too much if their hand. Everyone now knows they want to trade him BADLY and thus we aren't going to get shit for him. His $10M + contract makes him a hard sell but we've pushed past the point of no return now. The teams relationship with him is shot because of the past week and now everyone knows we're highly motivated sellers. We may end up having to cut him and get absolutely nothing for a premium WR in his prime. Seriously though, we had the cap space to keep him no problem. I understand moving him if we could sell high but put that out there quietly and if no one bites we could have brought him back, as it was within our budget. Instead they leaked the shit out of their desire to get rid of him, which has irreparably damaged his relationship with the organization so now we HAVE TO lose him one way or the other. I see this as a major blunder.

But the Ravens got Steve Smith. Hmmmm, that could work out pretty well.

I know after last year Chip Kelly has earned the benefit of the doubt, or at least a "wait and see" attitude from the Eagles fan base but I gotta say I'm not liking much of anything the team has done with this offseason. Strokes is intriguing, but that's about it.

Dunking on goalposts has now been banned, lest you get a fine. That's just moronic, among a list of other things the NFL has done as of late.

The Eagles released DeSean Jackson. It coincided with reports of Jackson being tied (though not as a prime suspect) to two gang-related murders. I don't think we have the full story here. This is the team that gave Michael Vick a chance when no one else would and just recently gave Riley Cooper a contract extension. Nothing that's been revealed as of yet indicates DeSean is actually in trouble with the law. I think this is a huge loss for the Eagles. Jackson is a top 10 receiver in the NFL. We drafted him in the second round and signed him to a long term contract, which we've now thrown away and have nothing to show for it in return. If him having ties to a murderer (but not having committed any crimes himself) is the extent of why they released him, I am very pissed.

And now the Redskins are showing a strong interest in Jackson. Great. Some people say Chip Kelly was exasperated because he couldn't find any way to motivate DeSean. I guarantee he'll see a VERY motivated DeSean Jackson twice a year if he signs with the Redskins or any other NFC East team.
