IMO, a fair compromise is this. A "student" gets 3 choices.

A. they go to the school, go to class, play for the team exactly as it is now.

B. they play for the team, get paid to do so and do not ever go to class, and can leave any time (but not change teams for 2 years) and can only play for 4 seasons after their first which must start before the age of 21 (or something like that).

C. they play for the team and go to school on a full scholarship and boarding, but may not leave until they graduate (or fail of course).

College is a joke in general.

Billions and billions generated by the children's games,... did that lower tuition? Hell no, it raised tuition because you wouldnt want to be that uncool guy with a degree from a shitty football program. Just like every other monopoly, a few feed on the many. Then these few pervert the word "education" and continue the 15k hours of k12 training because monopoly men dont need anything other then obedient workers and dept slaves walking the line. Its no accident there are so many graduates who are functionally illiterate and/or lacking the tools for basic intellectual defense.

With the price tag on college the so called education part has become worthless.
If you want to drop a 100k dont be so gullible and believe you will make that money back unless your an engineer. If your a chick, find and marry a rich dude, same for the guys but you would be better off playing golfing and tennis with the affluent while never screwing anyone. In short, network your way into a plush job.

Recently, the Athletic Director at Ohio state was given an $18,000 bonus because a wrestler at the school had won the collegiate level state wrestling tourney. So, a man who already makes well over 200k+ a year, got $18,000 as a bonus due to the hard work and efforts of an unpaid student athlete that he probably didn't even know existed before he got his bonus. Must be nice.
