Also comrade looks like they're definitely doing the woman scorned thing with shae. I agree this is awful. I guess they want her to seem more sympathetic when she betrays Tyrion.

On how they handled joffreys death - I assumed they'd make it much less disturbing on tv than it had been in the books, where he pretty much starts ripping his own throat open. As expected, they did not include that, but I gotta give props, those cold dead blue eyes in the final shot were effective for a disturbing image.

i'm actually surprised they didn't have him tear his own throat out considering the shit they show on the walking dead and previous episodes of GoT. wouldn't have really been against precedent.

but the way they handled it was very satisfying. all those broken capillaries and the blood out the nose were great.

they wasted time with stannis i agree. the most jarring omission from the books, possibly to date, is the lack of joffery's kind-of confession about bran. speaking of bran, they moved bran forward and I don't think that time was wasted. also i think they really wanted to hammer home that the possible killers of joffery is basically everyone but cersei is crazed. this episode was written by GRRM btw
