I would say that what you are doing with Pakistan now is about as good as it's going to get.

Having nukes doesn't mean you can bully, it just means that we won't be overthrowing your government and occupying the country. Doesn't stop us from killing Pakis if need be though.

What ex is trying to explain to you is that it's not just we let them do whatever they want cause they have nukes. It's cause they have nukes and of the current government falls apart those nukes will fall into the possession of some of the worst people you could ever give a nuke to. It's a necessary evil be tactful with these pricks given the circumstance.

Honestly... Because there had to be a military response, there was. It's also nice to have a staging area right beside Pakistan.

To stage what?

Because the only staging area going on since 9/11 has been Pakistan, for AQ and the Taliban. To attack us.

To stage operations within Pakistan. To have a force there to threaten them with. To be able to seize their nukes if the government falls.

This is geopolitics. It's not as simple as us vs. them.
