the only wrong idea in this thread is that the mighty "anglogermanic" culture of the United States is too strong to be influenced significantly by "lesser cultures"
This is an assumption obviously informed entirely by dim-witted cultural assumption of supremacy and flies in the face of all the objective evidence proving that North American is in fact an outgrowth of Latin culture and closely follows the social formulations of other Latin cultures.

there is a difference between significant influence and fundamentally altering something.
adding a jazz beat to a metal song is a significant influence. making that metal song into a love ballad is fundamentally altering it.
