The truth is that white people in the U.S. (with a few exceptions) have lost whatever made them Irish, or English or German or French and now participate in American culture which does have some European roots but is at the end of the day a crazy hybrid that is about Anglo-Germanic as it is other things.
The cultural things Enyon mentioned, biker gangs, Budweiser and BBQ are not strictly anglo germanic. The motorcycle as an invention has experienced worldwide adoption, the biker gangs and biker culture is uniquely american and is now an American export. BBQ has Caribbean or Spanish roots. Beer's popularity is the only one that can be seen as a definitive anglo-germanic influence.
