I'm french, and NATO's response across the board has been abysmal appeasement. I was responding to americans, so I tailored the response, but it's equally applicable to western Europe. When I mentioned the "immediate response" we should've had, I wasn't talking about americans. It's understandable that most americans wouldn't give a f**k either way to be frank, it's way out of their backyard. This is a european issue.

And the shit I've called the modern euro Chamberlains calling for restraint (i.e wait until Putin is done f**k the Ukraine and things cool down again, until he moves on to the next imperial claim) is way more sneering and and derisory than anything I've said here.

Unless you're a Ron Paul type isolationist pretending the US isn't deeply involved in this is pure hipocrisy anyways. Maybe the vast majority of your people don't want to play world police, but that's not what your government wants.

We don't mind. We just carry on supporting NATO entirely so you don't have to spend any money on defense and can instead focus on failed social programs.
