Technically nothing is art since an artist cannot guarantee uniformity of interpretation and future function. I can use a Matisse as a door stop if I want to.

If it elicits an emotion through its design, it's art.
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
