Occupy is a great example of what happens when you teach young people that voting and protesting is enough, and that if you just do those two things, you can change the world. It was all style over substance; it is why they decided to do pots'n'pans rallies, as if making alot of noise could possibly reach people in an effective way (instead, it just irritated them). It is why they decided to do their ridiculous collaborative decision-making, which simply allowed undercover police and other reactionary elements to control and diffuse all their plans before they even started. Lastly, it is why Occupy faded away after given the perfect opportunity to achieve legitimacy - given the choice between occupying the park and ACTUALLY OCCUPYING THE PARK, they went home.
