And I'm defending Assange from false accusations made in an attempt to frame him, not making them myself. All one has to do is take a cursory glance at the actions of the US govt in the past to understand what is happening here. I know you are well aware of the character of these dealings. The US govt has literally funded and supported genocide within our lifetime. They have a sorry history and that is objective fact.
A little lying and murder to cover up some loose ends that were exposed is all in a days work for them.

Because it is easier and safer to have some convict kill him when he's in prison. Also it has to look believable. Probably those two women were already CIA contacts or operatives who had been gathering intel on him while he was in Sweden. It's a matter of a simple phone call or two at that point to get the guy in your hands.
