Of course there are more soccer players. America needs a simplistic, easy, cheap, physically undemanding sport for the infirm and retarded. Interest stems mostly from young mothers concerned their idiot is getting too fat, but too scared to let them play something difficult.

Sorry, but the rest of the world had better HOPE that the US doesn't suddenly start liking soccer like we do football, baseball or basketball. We'd have billions of dollars poured into camps for kids, soccer stadiums, AAU teams, etc. - all training our kids to play. It'd be bye-bye "who will win the world cup" and hello "how much is the US going to win by".
