i think a sleeper cost me $180 from DC to jesup, GA and about the same for 2 regular seats from jesup, GA to chicago. the jesup, ga amtrak station is awesome. it's just a burnt out building that you stand and wait for the train. there are no ticket agents, sales, you just go there with your ticket and wait. the train will come and take you away.

Guys...Amtrak is about 1/3 the speed of European trains as well. It takes us forever to get anywhere over here.

well there's 9 trillion in capital just sitting around. that should build at least a few bullet train networks.
