In a previous life I did a lot of hard drugs. one might even call me a drug addict, in fact I was. So this is an issue I feel very strongly about
1. this idea that drug dealers are getting rich quick is 100% absurd. I probably knew 30 drug dealers at one point and not one of them was anything other than basically getting by like everyone else is. Real life is not like a movie where everyone is making these 6 figure drug deals, just about every drug dealer I know would be happy to give up the lifestyle if they could make a decent living. In fact one I know got tired of it and just went to college and got a degree.
In reality, these guys are making 1000-2000 a week tops, and that's assuming you have real clientele and you don't get ripped off somehow during the week. Might not sound like a lot but these are guys usually without a lot of options.
2. the biggest joke in America is the drug recovery industry.
the dirty secret that America doesn't seem to know beucase most are usually not what you call hard core drug addicts and never have to experience it but the reason we have so many drug addicts and why no one ever seems to get better is beucase honestly, they don't want you to get better.
see, as a drug addict, say you get popped driving too fast, police officer searches your car, finds some drugs, you go to jail, get bailed out, you have to hire a lawyer, they send you to inpatient rehab, then send you to outpatient rehab, and therapy on top of that.
I've been through all of that except the arrest part by the grace of god I have never been arrested in my life, how I have no idea lol but I haven't. A normal impatient facility is going to cost you 6-10 grand for 30-45 days. Outpatient 500-1000 a month, plus therapy which is about another 500-1000 a month. They make you go live at a chem free house which charges you room and board of usually 100-150 a week and at any time, at least the one I was living at, there are 50-75 people there.
The oil that has to make all this run smoothy, is you staying hooked on drugs. See if you actually mess around and get clean, they don't get any of it.
that's the real reason why we will never end the war on drugs. It's the industrial drug rehabilitation complex. Rehab Centers that have boards of directors on them and all of them are making money off the addicts in the building and are figuring out how to nickle and dime you more while you are there, guys who buy houses and turn them into mini chem free house and making a grand a month in rent by making 4 people stay there and all you have to do is drug test them 1-2 times a month, you don't even have to market your house they will just send people to you.
When I was getting clean my first time, they kept trying to get to go get evaluated by a shrink. I damn near got kicked out beucase I didn't want to go see a shrink, and when i did go see him he came to the conclusion that I had borderline personality disorder, and i don't, I know I don't, but are quick to perscibe me medication that I now have to buy.
the whole thing is a racket. Oddly enough, it took me leaving that entire scene to finally get and stay clean. Those people, the government, the organizations, none of them want you clean. half the people in jail are there on drug charges you think they want you clean? they wouldn't have jobs.
OUr drug problem wouldn't be anywhere near as bad if we actually tried to fix drug addicts. All we do is give them a few months off the street to save up some money and go do the whole thing over again
