that's not very specific and incredibly anecdotal. the majority of americans work service jobs or low-skill trade jobs. those that do work skilled trades i would absolutely hope they aren't just winging it their first year or two welding or pipe fitting. of "office jobs", most of those are drone positions like receptionists, secretaries, HR personnel, whatever. positions that, if they require training, should be easily understood within months.
if what you were trying to say was "in the professional world of being a successful architect with many successful white collar friends, acquaintances, and contacts, most of our jobs take a long time to nail down" then that's one thing.
