Come spring, keep an eye out for Sam Adams Cold Snap. Thinks its one of the best beers they've made. Not fan of Summer. Not use the cliche from the article, just think they've gotten too big and the quality suffers.
I love the Dogfish 90 minute IPA, probably my favorite. Haven't tried the 120 but here its worth the seriously inflated price. A beer snob I know recommended only buying it Dec-Feb.

Whats the deal with the South and craft beer? Is it that stouter beer is less compatible with the climate? Do people simply not like it for some reason?
