they would inflict some military losses and temporary economic losses as far as consumer goods are concerned but any war they fight with us will be fought in their backyard. shit, all you have to do is destroy a handful of china's major ports and you've essentially halted their economy for 10 years.
As it stands, china isn't looking the most stable right now. lot of unrest in hong kong right now and i feel like there's some sympathy among the rest of china for them. on top of that you've got the uighurstan getting uppity. the last thing they need is a devastated economy.
plus there's the long-term impacts. how willing will businesses be to set up in china? to move to china? think the west is going to continue important chinese goods en masse? they would cease to be a country overnight. chiang kai shek's corpse is salivating at the thought of it.
