1984 warned about totalitarianism inventing problems to establish its own purpose. It wasn't a statement about socialism; more of a fictional account on human sociology. Fascism, capitalism, communism - the political identities didn't matter.
Economic systems and the concept of proper ownership are inventions of man, not natural precedents established in history. Even among liberal democracies there's a world of difference between the American, Singaporean, Chinese, and Norwegian systems.

I watched a documentary last night on Netflix with Schiff and Griffin explaining to me why the entire fiat currency system was a ponzi scheme. And why the fed is a bad bad person that basically controls the world.
I managed to get to 45 mins in but couldn't make it to the ending at 55 mins.
