The suggestion that Scotland just "keep the tridents and pay a disproportionate share of the debt" shows how out of touch he is here. Scotland will have to use the pound informally for years, making them little better than the banana republics that informally use the dollar because their can't get their affairs in order and maintain a proper currency. It would take them from being a key member in one of the worlds major financial centers to Argentina overnight.
That said, I'm genuinely curious as to how a yes vote would play out. I still think most people believe there isn't much of a chance they will be stupid enough to go ahead and vote yes. Right now we can joke and speculate but if they vote yes then all of a sudden they need serious solutions to impassible problems. I'd be interested to hear the english position on letting them back in in a years time when they realize what a mess they have made.
