both the fanboys and haters are hilarious.
I have an Apple 5. Been very happy with it. But it's still doing well and for that reason I won't upgrade to an iphone 6 yet (unless my mom wants to take it off my hands and enter the 21st century, then I'll get a new one). I'd get the iphone 6 and not the 6 plus, though. 5.5 inches is just way too much for me. I don't want something that big. My g/f is getting the 6 as her 3g is begging to be put out to pasture.
The 6 looks interesting, but nothing really special. Mostly minor improvements and they didn't reveal what was going to be great about ios8. Better camera, fast, etc of course. But battery life isn't much improved (except on the Plus) which is all I care about nowadays, really.
Also I think Apple made a mistake by making the 16GB the entry model. Why is it not the 32GB? f**k 16GB today. IMO, bad move. 32-54-128 is right, not 16-64-128. Annoying.
As for the Watch, I never buy 1st gen stuff. The concept is cool but the price is really high. I like the OS much more than the other watches out there. Of course, my issue is I hate wearing watches.
But if I were to get the Watch, I don't understand why it must always be with your iphone. The one great advantage this phone would be for me is it would act as a garmin. When I go running, I'd wear the watch and it would have my Nike App on it. But why must I still carry my iphone for it to work? the whole point is to not have to take my phone which I currently use an armband for! And I should be able to plug in my headphones to it and play a limited amount of music (or pandora). Come on Apple, if this is the case, this is a disappointment.
The other features, while cool, just aren't enough for me to care about right now. I'm fine pulling my phone out rather than looking at my watch (especially since I hate watches).
In closing, the iphone 6 is an okay update and the Plus is just too big for me. The Watch is cool and we're heading in the right direction, but between the price point and the functions as they are now, I have no reason to buy one.
