Actually, now that I look, does anyone have Verizon? What is this Edge nonsense? I have an upgrade from October 1, or I can do edge...not sure which one is the best way to go.

Actually, I think I can cop this new iPhone for $300 outright, unlocked, without a plan. I've been considering switching to t-mobile for a while, unlimited everything with free international data and texts for 80 bucks. Seems like a steal compared to the 100+ I shell out to Verizon for 2gb of data.

My thinking is I upgrade with Verizon Oct 1, cop new iPhone for 299 or 399 or whatever, then switch to t-mobile and have them pay my termination fee. Now you have to trade in your old phone and get a new one if you want them to pay your ETF, but i can just trade in an old cheap phone worth nothing and then buy the cheapest phone tmobile has for like 30 bucks. In the end, I should have my new iPhone on tmobile only paying whatever the on contract price is.

If t-mobile service is shit, then I still have my new iPhone and can just go back to Verizon under their edge contract. Someone tell me the flaw in in this plan.

i got my nexus 5 on launch day for $300 off contract. i don't think massive storage is important for a phone. mine isn't expandable anyway... my last one was and i never expanded it

but when i went to t-mobile (verizon refused to carry the nexus 5 because of a quarrel with google) and got my new service, because i didn't get a subsidized phone... i get my service (unlimited everything except for tethering with is 3gig/month) for $60 bucks. which is a lot cheaper than verizon, so f**k you verizon. had i got a subsidized phone you basically just pay it off later and they tack it on the price
