Where were you on 9/11/2001?

I recall a poll that included two questions. One was IDing Iraq on a map. One was asking whether we should invade Iraq (this was in 02 I think). Like 10% of people could ID Iraq and 60+ percent wanted to bomb it.

Goddamn this country sucks sometimes.

God I wish I could find it but there was this hilarious video I think right after the Iraq War where a guy just went around asking people on the street who we should bomb. Once again people could barely find places on the map, but then this one dude just started ranting saying "We should bomb um Thailand, Brazil, etc etc" Both hilarious and saddening at the same time.

walking on the beach in cabo with my father that morning. the towers had already fallen by the time we had heard of it.

8th grade Math & Science class, 13 years old. The intercom and they told us to please turn on the news because a plane crashed into the WTC. I kinda cringed when they said that, and then I saw it on TV and then REALLY cringed. Even moreso when I noticed the second tower got hit and once both towers collapsed the whole school went silent. No work got done the rest of the day. Then I remember all county schools had early dismissals at noon, my parents picked me up and I was in panic mode the rest of the day. Didn't help that my birthday was the next day either.
