Glad to hear it re Dredd. I saw it and thought it basically looked like a video game, and video game-movies usually suck.

I think i'll see it in 3-D next weekend.

Dredd 3D- 5/10

Meh. Seen it all before. This movie just has a lot more gory killshots. But the villain is weak and the story is predictable. Only good thing about it is Karl Urban- he never takes his helmet off and is pretty good as Dredd.

I'm always up for a good CIA agent gone bad flick, but there were actually too many car chases/fights to the death for my taste. I actually got so bored with it after a while that I started losing interest in the flick and wasn't really interested in finishing it. The final fight was the one I engaged in to finish the film.

So...hanging out with a girl I know from around town on Saturday. Invites me over for a movie and pizza (classy chick), and the movie is of course a bootleg copy of Magic Mike. The shit I do for women.

Anyways...

Magic Mike - 6/10

I of course went in expecting it to be exactly what it was marketed as - nude dudes, Channing Tatum sexing up the ladies and Matthew McConaughey playing himself in yet another movie. So it was sort of a surprise to see Olivia Munn from G4 full spread nude in the first 5 mins of the film, with another full nude girl passed out on the bed behind her. Dafuq? TBH this is a movie where the commercials marketed something that was not the actual movie. For all of the buildup as being a bunch of nude dudes, you see one penis in the entire movie and it is used as a joke. This film is also told from a guy's perspective, so it is not a chick flick. It is basically a womanizing guy meeting a sweet girl and falling for her, which forces him to change his womanizing, partying and stripping ways to win her heart - and as I said it is told from the guy's point of view. There are crude jokes galore and they are of the variety that only men tell to one another about the women they f**k the night before. Kind of a subplot with drugs and cartels, but all in all just another indie coming of age movie centered around a guy that happens to be a male stripper.

For any wimmenz thinking they'll finally get to see Tatum fully monty, no dice. Most you see him is shirtless.
