That's a big reason Non liked the show it passed the real crime smell test* for me. Shit like in the show does happen rarely with such high-up connections but it does happen.

My first month as a PD there was a case where a guy kidnapped, raped, and then sacrificed a retarded teenage girl so he could ascend to demon-hood.

Satanism is the dumbest religion ever. Since the concept of an entity known as Satan is exclusive to the three Abrahamic religions (Islam, Judaism and Christianity), in order to be a Satanist you have to believe in everything else, you just choose to follow Satan instead of God or Christ....and the fact that people do this voluntarily is more of a head-scratcher to me then simply being a Muslim or something. You are all but saying that you think a man named Jesus was the son of Christ, died for our sins but you chose the dark side. Either way, you still think Jesus died for people, which is stupid too.

Well, I dunno. Satanism is mostly about being pro-human in the face of a hostile creator. It holds that God is essentially a crazed and sadistic murderer, that people should do what they want, and that selfishness is, in a sense, a virtue.

If you are going to accept the existence of the biblical God, their position makes a lot more sense, IMO. You don't negotiate with terrorists.
