Non is correct in how I used the term god. The point I was making is that they still believe something controls everything, and that that something is not human. Labeling it is as "Satan" can confuse others since they apparently do not believe in a monotheistic God type entity, but they call what they follow Satan which of course is a common, malevolent deity in Abrahamic religions.

Satanists obviously believe in a force that isn't scientific, if they did they wouldn't be a part of a.....religion...and don't even try to claim Scientology is based on a factually proven scientific force.

I'm not well studied on satanism but reading the link that eynon posted, it seems like this version of satanism is all about how one should live life in this world for this world. And as such, belief in greater forces beyond this world are largely irrelevant. Followers may or may not believe in a higher force but for the purposes of their teachings it doesn't really matter.
