Yep, this is coming from the genius that claims that this sweeping 28% will harm no American workers in anyway. Lets also ignore the fact that 73 coal fire plants have shut down since 2012, I guess those workers weren't harmed when they lost their jobs. Lets also ignore the fact people will be forced to pay more for power, yep taking more money out of people's wallets with stagnant wages won't hurt them either. How about giving another economic advantage to China, who doesn't have to meet emissions until 2030, yep that won't affect American workers either.

One can also still see the United States from space. Not so with great swaths of China. Let them burn their coal.

To be honest, it was 28% since 2005. We're already halfway there. If Obama is smart (and I don't think ANYONE disputes that he's smart), he will have chosen a date and reduction percentage that is almost achievable at current effort levels.

For instance, I can't find the data, but let's say that we've already decreased our output by 13% over the past 9 years. Just keeping up the status quo would mean that we would achieve that 28% without hardly lifting an additional finger.

That's something I learned a long time ago. When negotiating, hold your cards close. Then, it can seem that you are making a concession, when really you have given up nothing.

We're above 13% as we speak. Right now cuts are hovering around 17%. We can applaud emission cuts all day long, but lets not pretend that these cuts won't have negative impacts on workers.
