A Little Bit Anxious

So I'm graduating this year with my engineering degree. I have a job lined up in financial services. I've done all the student org president stuff and I've been successful so far. I'm thinking my next step is an MBA after working for 2 years. I'm going to go at it hard and try for a great, but realistic school (Michigan, Duke, Virginia, Dartmouth, etc...)

Does anybody here have any career advice in that regard? Life lessons learned?

engineers make money and do things. why would you ever want an mba? get a job doing stuff and get out of acedemia. you'll see that you don't need such any such thing.

i've considering going back, for a masters in computer science, but only because it wasn't my undergrad. but the only real reason is if i want to be an architect instead which i'm not so sure about; i can move up management without any such schooling.

Having an MBA and getting a management position doesn't at all entail being able to convince shareholders to take the less profitable route because it's the right thing to do.

Well it's not so much about having a pet project. It's more so influencing the people that I work with and work for. It doesn't necessarily need to be influencing huge decisions for major corporations, definitely not from day 1, or day 1200, but I would be able to influence people to do the right thing within my own area and to make an overall positive impact.

I don't think that is too naive or unrealistic, do you?
