I see nothing in there about how a representative shouldn't represent the needs of his constituents either.
Tell you what - next time a factory shuts down in your town, and hundreds of people are laid off, I hope you write a letter of support to the rep who didn't even try to convince them otherwise.

don't overstate the Union part here. it's a simple matter of votes.
