MGS2: Sons of Liberty is probably my favorite video game of all time. Loved the plot, loved the long cut scenes, loved the stealth aspect. Haven't played the recent ones but maybe I will pick them up if I have some free time. Easily the greatest series ever along with Gran Tourismo.

3 was, arguably, the best of the series. 2 was just a higher definition version of metal gear solid tbh, not that there's anything wrong with that, but those game mechanics were dated.
that said, the first one for ps1 is probably my favorite. lots of nostalgia, but also the most believable story of the series and one the best written. i mean deepthroat? sniper wolf's story? too good.
