It is already 100% acceptable for an officer to pull their weapon for just about any reason at all, right up to "having a bad feeling." Now I agree the ideal solution is to just disarm them. But that's not going to happen. So anything that has the slight chance of decreasing fatalities is great, especially if it makes cops look foolish and opens them up to ridicule about wearing a condom on their gun.

Cops should have smart guns locked by computers that can only be unlocked by central command. If they need to use their gun they can call and explain the situation, maybe send some pictures from a smart phone. And if it's warranted, their weapon can be activated.
