today is the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination, and this thread was about the end of the civil war... i didn't mean for this thread to go into southern foods. but since we're there...
the only southern dish i make with some regularity is pecan pie, unless we count "bbq" which i think it is wrong to count that

i've been to franklin in austin and chicago q (in....chicago) and wasn't blown away by either tbh.
nab i went to a ridiculous french place in mexico city that was amazing (not bernadin-level amazing but really good). it was weird.
