If we're to actually take the premise seriously, I don't think rage really fits the description of the emotions people fee when they're giving their "opinions". For actual rage, you'd have to have had something actually done to you. You can feel irritation and disgust at someone's opinion, and you can feel sardonic and sarcastic about the aims of government politics... but rage isn't really a thing in the United States beyond race relations...
