Italian pizza is good. There's plenty of variety. You're required to follow X rules to call it Y, but that doesn't mean you can't prepare a different type of pizza and call it something else.
NY has really good pizza too.
I've never been able to enjoy deep dish TBH. Maybe there's good deep dish but I haven't seen it.

deep dish is f**k disgusting. a saucy mess of f**k casserole that makes you spend more time concentrating on not choking to death than on enjoying the flavor.

The trick with deep dish is to not think of it as pizza. Because it isn't.
