i hadn't considered that about varys, but i think you're right. which makes sense when he is so crestfallen when shae knows it's him when he's in disguise. however i also believe him when he says he hates magic. if he started the training he probably quit once he saw the faces

I pretty much lost interest in the show once they killed off Robb Stark, so I'm not too concerned with how it ends. (I've never read the books just commenting based off the show)
