Just a fluke. I worked with this guy 18 months ago and grab dinner with him here and there when I'm in Philly. My tolerance for his middling personality apparently kept me fresh in his mind so he offered this newly open slot to me. Still have the Tokyo option but have to decide on that by the end of this month at the latest.
Am I going crazy in that I'm leaning toward Philly?

But seriously, you don't have a wife or girlfriend, don't be f**k beta here. The huge benefit to not having a SO is you can literally f**k off to Japan for a few years with few repercussions. Going to philly would be a tacit admission that you have utterly failed to meet a quality woman who can stand your presence and instead of taking the hint and living for yourself, you are doubling down and moving to an even shittier city, with even shittier girls, so you can continue living each day with the fantasy of a nice suburban house in chestnut hill.
