Oh, and I count ALL people killed. Not just the ones that the US was responsible for. I realize that you, Dharma, have something against US policies and the deaths they cause. But, that's not what this thread is about. It's about total deaths, regardless of the cause.

And I realize that my above example does not take into account murders and other "domestic" violence. But, unless we can somehow figure that billions of people have been murdered during carjackings since WW2 while all the people not killed by the Mongols were peacefully loving each other, it won't change the outcome that much.

The claim that the native American genocide and slave trades resulted in no more than 200K casualties is quite frankly insulting. You are simply denying reality here.We killed as much or more than your entire figure in Viet Nam alone. The reality is the actual death toll of war is much, much greater than just number of combatants alone. It's civilians who make up the bulk of the deaths in war, the so called collateral damage, who pay the highest price in war. So any reasonable estimate of our death toll cannot have the bulk of it's data sanitized in such a manner.
