if i go somewhere and feel apprehensive i'm going to think things differently than if i am not
for example, i was sitting playing poker around a campfire a few days ago and then there was a large crash. we were playing by the campfire light and we all immediately turned on flashlights. we had been doing it repeatedly throughout the night whenever there was some noise because we were apprehensive; the campsite did have bear tracks in it when we got there (momma and baby bear too). the fight-or-flight response in me was kicking up as i'm reaching for my flashlight and knife at same time while the other guy was getting his flashlight and bear spray. it was a large noise.
what it turned out to be was the largest rabbit i have ever seen in my life, standing high on its backlegs and ears straight up to the tips of them was probably over 3 feet tall. he ran circles around the campsite, it was rather weird. but i heard the noise and thought the worst
so did you see ghosts? well, no, mainly because there are no such thing. the environment around you is playing tricks on you -- or rather, your own mind is doing it, like blair witch project. i do not doubt you experienced whatever it is you did, but i do doubt that its cause was beyond whatever your imagination was using to fill in gaps of information
