except my absolutes err on the side of not incarcerating people and they don't deal with criminal sentences at all.

why should someone who has committed a non-violent crime even need to post bail though? non-violent offenses shouldn't face jail time in the first place so bail shouldn't even need to be an option in those cases.

nope. they should be put on parole and forced to work community service at the rate of minimum wage until the damage they caused is paid off.

what faith am i putting in humanity? they're in the system, being monitored, and have a large time sink they have to commit to that benefits everyone but them. i'm not putting any faith in humanity i'm actually burdening them tremendously.
